PawStory is designed as an offline-first pet care and memory application. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use PawStory and when you choose optional services that require communication with third parties.
2. Information Stored in PawStory
PawStory may store information you enter or create in the app, including pet profiles, dates, care information, health and wellness records, reminders, memories, photos, videos, family information, birthday information, nutrition information, and other content you choose to keep in the app. Core app data is designed to be stored locally on your device.
3. Photos, Videos and Media
When you add photos or videos, PawStory uses the Android permissions and media-selection mechanisms required to let you choose the media you want to use. Selected media is used for the corresponding PawStory features.
4. Optional Online Services
Some optional features may communicate with external services where required by the feature.
Subscription and Premium Billing
Premium subscriptions are processed through the configured app-store billing and subscription services. RevenueCat may process subscription-related and transaction information to support purchases, entitlement verification and subscription management.
Optional Backup Services
If you explicitly use an available cloud backup service, information required to perform that backup is transferred to the selected service. Local backup and restore functionality may also be available depending on the app version.
Location / Place Lookup
If you use a place or location lookup feature, information required for that lookup may be sent to the configured geocoding service. This is optional and is not required for core offline-first functionality.
5. AI Health Features
PawStory may provide AI-assisted health and symptom information where available. Such information is for general informational and pet-care support purposes and is not a diagnosis or a substitute for professional veterinary care.
6. Notifications and Reminders
PawStory may schedule local reminders and notifications for pet-care activities you configure. These are designed to operate on the device.
7. Data Sharing
PawStory does not sell your pet information for advertising purposes. Core pet data is designed to remain on your device unless you choose an optional feature that transfers information to an external service. Third-party providers may process information necessary to provide optional services.
8. Advertising and Tracking
PawStory is designed without advertising-based tracking as a core app function.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
Information stored locally remains on your device until you delete it, remove the app, or use available deletion functions. Optional cloud copies or backups may require separate deletion from the corresponding service.
10. Security
PawStory uses an offline-first architecture and Android platform security mechanisms to help protect information stored on the device. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
11. Children's Privacy
PawStory is a general-purpose pet care and memory application and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children for purposes prohibited by applicable law.
